Field Notes HQ - Chicago

FGA with Moorman Design, 2017

This renovation of an existing raw loft space in Chicago’s West Loop houses the offices, studio, and production facilities for Field Notes, an internationally known maker of beautifully designed notebooks. The HQ design therefore focuses on creating spaces which respond to the elegant minimalism of the Field Notes product line. Our general approach was to paint much of the existing structure and walls white with each new intervention adding a pop of color or new material (typically wood), thus creating a clear dialectic between old and new.

In 2018, Crain’s Chicago named this space one of their “11 Coolest Offices in Chicago”.
